Walnut Pear Cake at The Kebabery September 23
Dear Cake Club,
September is that in between place as warm, late summer days just begin to have a fuzzy cool tinge around the edges. There are still ripe melons and heaps of tomatoes next to purple pluots and plums. You may have also noticed that Warren pears are just showing up, and they are buttery and perfect and may help you remember just how lovely fall is too.
So here's a cake that just starts to embrace fall with a lightly spiced walnut cake, pear jam, and tea poached prune compote. Equally good on a warm day or cool evening and just the thing after you've had some kebabs!
I'll be at the Kebabery on September 23rd with slices from 5-9 (or sellout) for dessert with your kebabs. If you need more than just a slice, email me to reserve a whole cake ($35/6"layer cake) and I'll have a box ready for you to pick-up. Hope to see you then!
