This time of year is like a crazy fruit party where every fruit I've been missing keeps walking through the door. Then I start dreaming up cakes to honor them all. But it's summer, it'll be around for a little bit, and I can enjoy each Santa Rosa Plum, nectarine, blackberry in ways that don't involve cake. We are lucky. But peaches! Really good, juicy, sloppy peaches? Come on, we need to have a summer cake with peaches so here's one:
brown butter+black cardamom cake/fresh peaches/almond+noyau pastry cream/peach leaf whipped cream
I'll be at Bartavelle on July 2 with slices of summery peach cake to go with maybe a little rose or coffee on the patio. I'll also have a box of cake for you if you'd like reserve your whole cake for this month too. Which really you should get the whole cake. Email me to reserve a whole cake before June 29th. Cake club cakes are 6", $30 and I can accept cash, Venmo, Paypal or card upon pick up.
